Matt Denunzio

Matt DeNunzio, MD

With a commitment to patient care and a passion for improving lives, I strive to contribute to the well-being of my community by providing individualized, comprehensive primary care services.

I am a dedicated and compassionate physician practicing in Naples, Florida. With a commitment to patient care and a passion for improving lives, I strive to provide individualized comprehensive services and contribute to the well-being of my community.

I completed my bachelor’s degree in biology at Florida International University, where I developed a strong foundation in the sciences and a keen interest in medicine. Subsequently, I pursued my medical education at Ross University School of Medicine, where I graduated with high honors obtaining my Doctor of Medicine degree.

Following medical school, I completed my residency training at Florida State University, where I gained valuable experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. This training equipped me with the necessary skills to provide comprehensive care to adult patients in and out of the hospital.

After residency I began my career as a physician at Naples Community Hospital in 2016, where I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. I played an active role in leadership where I served as Medical Director for the North Naples Hospitalist Group, Chief Medical Informatics Officer, and Vice Chair of Medicine.

As a physician, I specialize in Internal Medicine and have a clinical focus on preventive care, chronic disease management, acute hospital care and promoting overall wellness. I believe in fostering strong patient-doctor relationships and empowering individuals to take an active role in their health.

Outside of my medical practice, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and daughter and pursuing activities that promote a healthy work-life balance. I have a keen interest in traveling, exploring different cultures, playing guitar, art, boating and fishing.

I am excited to practice medicine the way it was meant to be, dedicating my time and energy to each patient, while creating stronger ties in my community. Let me be the first to welcome you to the practice and our Wellspan family.

Dr. Joe Repay

Joe Repay, MD

I’m a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician and licensed physical therapist with several years of experience in hospital medicine, primary care, and outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation.

Hi, I am Dr. Joe Repay, MD. 👋🏼 I joined Wellspan Medical Services in 2018 so I could serve people like you, the residents of Naples and surrounding areas. I want to recognize the Founder of my practice, Dr JP van Dongen, because he is a wonderful colleague, friend and mentor. Dr JP was instrumental in providing guidance for carrying on the legacy of excellence for our premier concierge practice in Southwest Florida.

I am a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician and licensed Physical Therapist with several years’ experience in Hospital Medicine, Primary Care, and Outpatient Orthopedic rehabilitation. What does that mean for you? It means that I have a lot of experience when it comes to keeping people, like yourself, in optimal health. And that is what we all want, right?

I was raised in Ogden Dunes, IN, which is a small beach town on the southern tip of Lake Michigan. I was blessed growing up the oldest of four children with very dedicated parents, and a much bigger and very close extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In this environment I had many role models and mentors who instilled in me the “Midwest” values of hard work, dedication, compassion, gratitude, and strong sense of family that continue to define and guide both my personal life, and professional practice as a physician.

Professionally, I am also very involved with NCH, and will continue to be part of the positive growth of this system to ensure my patients continue to have the quality care they deserve in this community. I am also dedicated to the continued pursuit of medical knowledge in order provide the most effective and up to date care and advice possible.

I am married to my wonderful wife, Nicoleta, who is also an Internal Medicine Physician, as well as a full time mom. We are the parents to two wonderful kids, Ava Rose and Niko Joseph. In our free time, we enjoy an active lifestyle here in southwest Florida.

When I was in Medical school, I kept reminding myself that the sacrifices I was making would someday translate to people leading better lives because of my expertise and guidance. I really enjoy helping motivated people invest in their most precious asset in order to really thrive instead of merely surviving. In the current environment of volume-based health care in U.S. where most primary care practices see upwards of twenty patients daily, our practice remains focused on quality and relationship-building by maintaining a much smaller patient panel, which allows us the opportunity to really get to know our patients.

NIcole Kakaes

Nicoleta Kakaes, MD

I volunteered at my local community hospital as a teenager, which inspired me to pursue a career in medicine. I was intrigued with patient care, particularly a physician’s ability to make people feel better and improve their quality of life.

As the first doctor in the family, with no footsteps to follow, my interest in medicine began at a young age. Volunteering at the local community hospital as a teenager inspired me to want to pursue a career in medicine as I was intrigued with patient care and having the ability to improve their quality of life and make people feel better.

After graduating from the University of South Florida with dual bachelor degrees in Biomedical science and Psychology, I went on to pursue medical school at St. Matthews University School of Medicine. From there, I went to Mercer University School of Medicine to complete my residency in Internal Medicine.

I moved to Naples in 2016 after graduating from residency and worked as a Hospitalist for the past seven years. After working in a fast-paced environment with limited time to truly connect with my patients, I felt it was time to transition to a medical environment where I believe in fostering a trusting and collaborative relationship with my patients to empower them to make informed decisions about their health. Concierge medicine has enabled me to dedicate more time with my patients to create a more thorough and personalized path to good health and longevity while incorporating a team-based approach through collaboration with all appropriate specialists.

I am a dedicated physician specializing in women’s health. I have become an advocate for women at every stage of life in order to promote wellness as well as empower women to break down barriers and reduce disparities in women's access to quality care. I believe that every woman deserves to have her voice heard, her concerns addressed, and her health prioritized.

My passions include engaging in activities that promote work-life balance, such as traveling, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with my husband and two kids.
